Keeping your Resort in Tiptop Condition, Update on Maintenance Projects

At Grand Residences we work to offer luxury vacation experiences that exceed your expectations, and we hold the highest standards of service. We are always looking for more dining and activity options to offer you and we take care of the resort during the year to keep it in tiptop condition so that your home away from home is always ready to welcome you. Here is an update on the maintenance projects that have been carried out at the resort this year.

Maintenance projects in 2023

Villas
Technicians pay monthly visits to the resort to inspect ovens, fridges and washing machines in the units as part of our ongoing villa maintenance program. The original appliances are being replaced with similar new models as needed. This year, sofas will be reupholstered with a similar fabric and worn rugs and deck furniture will also be replaced.
   Above and beyond the rigorous cleaning and upkeep for every villa, as part of the corrective maintenance program a consignment of villas is selected each year for in-depth attention, including painting, furniture stripping and revarnishing and more.
   To date in 2023, these additional projects in specific villas have also been completed.

Around the Resort
The maintenance team has been busy around the resort taking care of damage caused by salt, rust, superficial cracks and general wear and tear in walkways and guest areas. This includes painting walls, replacing cracked tiles, repainting walls, application of waterproofing products, repairs to doors, windows and louvers.
   Due to changes in the Mexican Smoking Laws, smoking is prohibited in rooms, on terraces and in guest areas throughout the resort. It is only permitted in designated smoking areas. In order to comply with these new regulations, earlier this year the resort had to install new signage and add ashtrays in the designated smoking areas.    The maintenance projects completed around the resort to date are as follows:

  • Replacement of the protective border on corners of walls and columns and repainting in different areas such as the pool deck
  • Painting walls in guest areas and pergola maintenance
  • Kids Club door repairs
  • Replacement of tennis court lights
  • Furniture repair in the doctor’s office
  • Repairs to the roof of the guest bathroom, Building 1
  • Painting the sales room terrace
  • Replacement of screws on sales room signs
  • Clothing storeroom door repair, Building 8
  • Door repair in the team member bathroom, Buildings 1 and 11
  • Louver maintenance, Buildings 8 and 9
  • Replacement of the floor on the main access ramp
  • Installation of signage as stipulated by the new Mexican law regulating the sale of tobacco products and smoking in public
  • Adding ashtrays in designated smoking areas


Pools & Jacuzzis
As part of the resort pool maintenance program, the following projects have already been completed.

  • Pool filter cleaning
  • Main pool resurfacing
  • Jacuzzi pump card replacement
  • Motor installation in Jacuzzi 3


Food & Beverages
Our maintenance team has already completed repairs and improvements in El Faro Grill and Flor de Canela restaurants, the pool bar and Heaven beach bar. These include painting, replacing floors and roofing material, replacing chair bases, lighting and certain kitchen appliances. Behind the scenes, they have also taken care of projects in the restaurant kitchens, Food & Beverage warehouse and the team members café.
